MICHIGAN TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY IN HOUGHTON, MICHIGAN
Also known as Michigan Tech, Michigan Technological University was founded in 1885. Designed to train mining engineers to work in the area's copper mines, the school, which is located in Houghton, Michigan, was the very first university in the Upper Peninsula.
