MICHIGAN TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY IN HOUGHTON, MICHIGAN

Also known as Michigan Tech, Michigan Technological University was founded in 1885. Designed to train mining engineers to work in the area's copper mines, the school, which is located in Houghton, Michigan, was the very first university in the Upper Peninsula. Rated "Best in the Midwest" by The Princeton Review, MTU offers over 130 degrees via five colleges and schools. In addition to engineering, MTU is also known for its stellar science, technology, forestry, and business programs.
